State law prohibits the disposal of appliances in landfills. Residents must contact Waste Management (WM) directly, 24-hours prior to your collection for an appliance pick-up. WM can be contacted at (800) 796-9696 between 7 am to 5:30 pm, Monday-Friday. A separate truck will collect appliances on your regular scheduled collection day. A charge will apply for each item and payment will be required prior to collection.
Qualifying appliances include washer, dryer, stove/range, furnace, freezer (doors removed/detached), refrigerator (doors removed/detached), dehumidifier, hot water heater, dishwasher, air conditioner, and humidifiers. Residents must remove appliance doors prior to pick-up. Refrigerant gas (Freon) removal requires documentation from a certified technician prior to collection.
Residents who are purchasing new appliances can also check with their retailer, who they purchase the new appliance from, if they remove or take their unwanted appliance.
