Here are some things you can do to help prevent package delivery theft:
Be sure to sign up for real-time alerts regarding package transit and delivery.
Arrange for a delivery that requires a signature.
Have packages delivered to a location operated by the carrier. For example, when dealing with UPS or FedEx, use their physical store locations for delivery.
Have the package delivered to your place of employment.
Have the package delivered to a stay-at-home neighbor’s house.
Specify with the carrier where exactly you want the package to be dropped off (back door, side door, etc.).
Consider the use of cameras.
Schedule the delivery for a specific date. If you think you may not be home, re-route or reschedule the delivery for a time when you will be home.
Talk to your neighbors about picking up the package for you, once you receive notice that it was delivered.
When using Amazon, consider having your package delivered to your vehicle. They can deliver to more than seven million eligible General Motors vehicle owners that have an active OnStar account.
