Yard waste is collected weekly from April 1st to November 30th on the same day as refuse and recycling. Acceptable yard waste items include grass clippings, leaves, short branches, vegetative plants and brush. There is no limit to the number of yard waste bags or containers, however, the requirements must be observed.
Requirements for yard waste collections:
- Must be placed in biodegradable paper bags (max 33 gallons and 45 lbs. in weight) or in unlined containers (max 33 gallons and 45 lbs. in weight) clearly marked with a red “X” around the body of the container (at least 12” in diameter to be visible).
- No plastic bags or cardboard will be accepted.
- Brush and tree limbs (3” or less in diameter) must be bound with biodegradable string in bundles that are maximum of 4 ft. in length, 2 ft. in diameter and weigh no more than 45 lbs.
Items not accepted in yard waste: fruits, vegetables, coffee grounds and similar; dirt; stone; pine cones; sod, flower arrangements; artificial flowers; indoor plants; concrete; rock; and, trees and stumps larger 3” in diameter.
Please note, townhome units and condominiums are not provided with yard waste services.
