Indian Trails Public Library District

The Indian Trails Public Library District serves 67,000 residents who live in Wheeling and portions of the Buffalo Grove, Prospect Heights and Arlington Heights communities. The main library, located at 355 Schoenbeck Rd., Wheeling, reopened in April 2017 after an extensive renovation and expansion. Nearly 15,000 square feet were added to the building to modernize and create spaces requested by the community, such as private study rooms, a drive-up window and increased programming space. Additionally, the library offers ESL and Training Labs, dedicated space for middle-school students and a more energy-efficient building that uses green technology.

The Launch Pad was also added during the renovation and features hands-on opportunities for visitors to explore their creativity through technology, such as 3D printers and laser cutters, and traditional arts and crafts. A digital media lab with sound recording equipment and green screen will open in September 2017.

The library also operates a small branch in Prospect Heights at 99 E. Palatine Rd.
