Project Information

This Project Includes:  Pavement preservation is becoming increasingly important as governmental agencies attempt to maintain roadways with progressively more difficult budgetary constraints. Recently, focus on preventive maintenance programs, such as surface treatments for asphalt pavements, has been initiated in an attempt to improve pavement performance by extending the periods of time between resurfacing, at a relatively low cost. This proposed application is intended to extend the typical pavement life by 5-7 years by denying the most invasive source of pavement deterioration (moisture).

High Density Mineral Bond (HA5) was specifically engineered to preserve relatively new asphalt surfaces through denial of oxidative damage at the surface by UV rays and within small cracks and fissures created by moisture infiltration. Denying the negative effects of oxidative damage is generally recognized as one of the most cost-effective strategies for long term management of asphalt pavement.  Application of the HA5 will require a curing time of up to 24 hours; the contractor will work with Public Works personnel and residents to allow for this curing in the most efficient way possible.

Project Limits: Shadow Bend Subdivision and Avalon Sienna Subdivision.

Project Schedule:
TBD
