Fire Service Line
Requirements
- 24-hour notice required
- Inspection before backfilling
- Permit required from Community Development
- Service is then ready for chlorination and testing results sent to Water Department and Building Department
- Service then must be tested at 200 P.S.I. for two hours
- Service to be flushed full bore until clean and witnessed by Plumbing Inspector
- Tapping in sleeve and valve to in a 5' round manhole
- To be installed by licensed plumber
- To be installed in a plastic sleeve on a bed of 3/4" washed stone
Domestic Service

1 1/2 inch Buffalo Box, as per Village of Wheeling Standard typical service tap
- 24-hour notice required
- Direct tap, no saddle unless directed by Water Department
- Permit required from Community Development
- Service to be tested and witnessed by Plumbing Inspector before backfilling
- To be installed by licensed plumber
