Building Overview
Within the Community Development Department, the Building Division plays a vital role in ensuring public health, safety, and welfare by administering and enforcing the Village’s adopted building codes and ordinances. This is achieved through comprehensive plan reviews, permit issuance, and construction inspections for a wide range of projects, including new construction, remodels, and additions.
The Building Division is responsible for the technical aspects of development—overseeing structural, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems—while also issuing Certificates of Occupancy to confirm compliance with all applicable codes before a building can be legally occupied.
