Licensed Plumber
All work shall be done by an Irrigation Contractor and Plumber. A copy of an Irrigation Contractors Registration and Plumbing Contractors Registration must be submitted to the Community Development Department before permit release.
Required Documents
- The Permission to Install a Lawn Sprinkler Form (PDF) must be signed by the property owner and submitted with the plans and permit application before the permit will be issued.
- Copy of a signed contract.
- Plat of survey- showing the location of all the sprinkler heads.
- Hold Harmless Release- when sprinkler heads are proposed within the public right of way (R.O.W)
- RPZ manufacturer’s technical data sheet.
- Copy of the equipment specifications.
- Letter of Intent from the Plumber.
Backflow Device
The backflow device shall be a reduced-pressure zone valve. The device shall be tested by a licensed backflow inspector, and a copy of the certification must be sent to the Community Development Department.
Schedule an Inspection
The lawn sprinkler system installer must notify the Community Development Department 24 hours prior to starting work to schedule an inspection. Call 847-459-2620.
- Final inspection after the system has been installed and backflow (RPZ) has been certified.
- All inspections require a 24-hour minimum notice.
- NOTE- All RPZs must be tested annually by a state-licensed CCCDI contractor.
